Is there any open source imposition software? psutils can be used for some

There's also pdftex and the LaTeX package pdfpages.

There's a full-fledged imposition program based on pdftex, but it's
commercial --- see Martin Schroeder's presentation at tug2001.

Would need some tweaking to make a moron proof package.

Not very open source, however I have seen the tug2001 online. But the actual
company www is opaque.

I was hoping that someone would have made a PDF imposition system. Is there
anything I have missed, but why are these systems so expensive, and why no
open source one?
